Judy (Halvorson) Busch was born at the Sanitarium in Chamberlain, SD on February 13, 1949 to Gene and Margie (Gerard) Halvorson. She was raised on the family farm south of Kennebec and graduated with high honors from Kennebec High School in 1967. That spring, she married the love of her life, Jerry Busch of Presho. They were wed at Kennebec Lutheran Church.
For most of their married life, Judy and Jerry made their home and raised their three children, Amy, Brian and Casey, on her family farm. While raising her family, she also managed her family business, Halvorson Oil, with her siblings, Curt Halvorson and Marsha Borah. Judy was a very active member of Kennebec Lutheran Church where she was their long time church pianist, taught Sunday School and served as church treasurer as well as chairman of the WELCA. She loved hanging out with her friends either playing cards or bowling (or bowling/shopping), but her greatest joys were working at her family business and spending time with her grandchildren.
Judy left this earthly life on October 8, 2019. She has joined her family; father-in-law, Harry Busch, mother-in-law, Marie Busch, brother Ricky Halvorson who preceded her in death.
She was grateful to share her life with her parents Margie & Gene Halvorson; husband of 52 years, Jerry Busch; children Amy (Busch) Krumenacker, Brian Busch and wife Melissa; Casey Busch and wife Chas; grandchildren Christof, Dabria, Julia, Daniel, Bella and Blaise; siblings Curt Halvorson and Marsha Borah; sister-in-law Joanne Thorson; brother-in-law Tom Busch and multiple nieces and nephews.
Anyone who knew Judy was truly blessed to have had this amazing woman in their life! She was selfless, kind, thoughtful and very generous. Judy was a gentle soul who would do anything for you and was committed to whomever and whatever she was involved in be it work, church, family or friends. She will be forever missed but never forgotten. Judy is now gathered around God's throne in heaven and is receiving his eternal praise.
