Graveside services for Joleen M. Norton, 80, of Reliance, SD will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at the Reliance Cemetery at Reliance, SD.

Joleen Marie (Recoy) Norton passed away after a battle with cancer on September 25, 2021 at Sanford Medical Center in Chamberlain at the age of 80 years.

Joleen Marie was born August 5, 1941 in Pierre, SD to Ray and Bernice (Hensler) Recoy. She attended the Lindley Country School through the eighth grade and then the Reliance High School graduating in 1959.

She worked at Bower's Bakery where she met the love of her life, Herbert Raymond "Ray" Norton.  On March 26, 1961, Joleen and Ray were united in marriage. Their marriage led to three sons and a daughter.

Gratefully sharing her life are her husband Ray Norton of Reliance, SD; three sons Kevin (Kelli) Norton of Hartford, SD, Forrest (Robbin) Norton of Oacoma, SD, and Aaron Dale (Samantha) Norton of Reliance, SD; a daughter Polly Ann Norton of Chamberlain, SD for 33 years; 11 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; four nephews; and a niece.

Preceding her in death were her daughter Polly Ann Norton, parents Ray and Bernice Recoy, infant twin brothers, sister Patty Ann Peterson, and a granddaughter Misty Audeen Norton.
