Funeral services for John G. Jones Jr., 48, of Pierre, SD will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Diamond Willow Ministries in Fort Thompson, SD with burial in the Conkicaska Presbyterian Cemetery at Fort Thompson, SD.  Wake services will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Diamond Willow Ministries in Fort Thompson.

John Guy Jones was born September 10, 1973 to Mary R. (Spider) and John G. Jones Sr. at the Community Baily Hospital in Chamberlain.  He attended Fort Thompson Elementary School and graduated from Crow Creek High School.  During high school, John met Michelle Necklace and were later married.  To this union two sons were born Cody and Devin and a daughter Ayana.  They moved to Vermillion where John worked for Menards.

In 2014, John met Tammy McLaughlin and together they raised his youngest daughter, Brooke.  On December 15, 2020, John and Tammy were united in marriage in Pierre, SD.

John liked to fish but would never eat what he caught.  He would usually give away his catch.

John had many good friends growing up.

John passed away on February 9, 2022 at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 48 years.  Gratefully sharing his life are his wife Tammy of Pierre; daughters Brooke and Ayanna; sons Kody (Dora) Jones, Devin Jones, and John Guy Raymond Jones; his father John G. Jones Sr. of Chamberlain, three siblings Quincy Jones, Lisa Grassrope, and Casey Jones, and many other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his mother Mary Ruth (Spider) Jones, maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents, his brother Gregory Jones, his uncle Rocky Spider, and many other family members.
