Memorial services for John R. Harmon, 59, of Oacoma, SD will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2022 at the Oacoma Community Center in Oacoma, SD with burial of the ashes in the Graceland Cemetery at Oacoma, SD.

John Richard Harmon was born May 2, 1963 to Gene Franklin and Iris Marie (Hutmacher) Harmon at Rock Springs, WY.  John was raised with his siblings in the Oacoma area and attended Chamberlain School District, graduating from Chamberlain High School in 1981.

On March 10, 1984, John was united in marriage to Pat Heenan at Chamberlain, SD. To this union two daughters were born Brianna and Danielle.

John was employed as a diesel mechanic and worked at A&R Trucking for more than 20 years.

He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing especially with family.  He undoubtedly was the best mechanic in the Midwest.

John's pride and joy were his children and grandchildren.

John passed away on September 1, 2022 at Oacoma at the age of 59 years.  Gratefully sharing his life are his wife Pat Harmon, two daughters Brianna Lynn Benson and husband Gabriel and Danielle Marie Harmon and husband Wayne Dwyer, his mother Iris Harmon, two brothers Louis Harmon and wife Sandra and Bill Harmon and wife Lori, sister Mary Pat Hoover and husband Rex, two grandchildren Eleanor and Lane Dwyer, and many other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his father Gene F. Harmon and his brother Steven Harmon.
