Jessie began her journey on June 11, 2020 at her home in Lower Brule, SD with family by her side.

Jessie Mae Fire Cloud was born on September 12, 1959 to William and Bertha (Eagle Thunder) Fire Cloud at Chamberlain, SD. Jessie joined sisters Ruth, Wilma, Willa and Ruby. Jessie attended grade school in Lower Brule, SD and high school at Stephan High School, Stephan, SD. After high school, Jessie attended United Tribes Technical Community College in Bismarck, ND (UTTCC) and later Lower Brule Community College and received an A.A. in Human Services.

Jessie was united in marriage to Richard (Dick) Johnson. Jessie has one son, Coy Fire Cloud, one daughter, Ruthann Johnson and adopted children Nevaeh Wilson and Cray Blue Bird. Jessie also took Buddy Jandreau and Miley Estes under her care and treated both as her own. Jessie loved her children and grandchildren.

Jessie made her home in Lower Brule, SD and worked at various jobs. She worked many years at Lower Brule Head Start; she enjoyed working with children. Jessie retired due to health reasons. Jessie loved all holidays and went out of her way to celebrate these event and included all of her family. Jessie went out of her way to help family and friends.

Jessie is survived by her husband Richard, children Coy, Ruthann, Nevaeh, Cray, Buddy and Miley, sisters Wilma M. Wilson and Cyrhina Fire Cloud, Aunt Irene Skunk and many nieces, nephews, grands, and great-grands.

Jessie is preceded in death by her parents: William and Bertha Fire Cloud, sisters Ruth Flute, Ruby Jandreau, and one grandchild.
