Jerry Alan Tounsley, 77, of Chamberlain SD , passed away May 30, 2018 at home.  Memorial services will be Friday, June 8, 10:30 am, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Chamberlain, SD.  Burial of ashes will take place at a later date.

Jerry was born to Charles and Letha (Munger) Tounsley at Lake Preston, SD.  He graduated from DeSmet High School and then attended Barber School.  He was united in marriage to Marilyn June Olson in 1959.  Jerry barbered for 50 years in Huron, Wessington Springs, and Custer.

After retirement Jerry and Marilyn moved to Chamberlain to be closer to their children.

Jerry enjoyed golfing, fishing, art work, family gatherings and coffee with friends.

He is survived by his wife Marilyn and their 4 children, daughter Wendy (Arden) Bergeleen, son Donald (Diane), daughter Teresa (Craig) Fonder, and son Robert (Brianne); 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 2 half brothers Alan (Wanda) Tounsley and Gary (Diane) Tounsley; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an older brother John Tounsley; the aunt and uncle who raised him (Louie and Lola Snyder) and special counsins Lenore Johnson and Dale Snyder.
