Jerome Vernon Larson passed away on October 17, 2018.

Jerome Vernon Larson was born on January 18, 1931 in Wagner to Harry F. and Agnes (Hult) Larson. He attended grade school at Wagner and graduated from high school in 1948 from Pukwana school. Jerome was united in marriage to Helen Anna Svenson on February 14, 1954 in Chamberlain, SD. Jerome served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956, stationed in Germany for most of that time. Jerome was happy that Helen and Harris joined him during his time in Germany. After returning from Germany, Jerome engaged in farming and raising black Angus cattle in Pukwana with his father and brothers. In 1966, the family moved to Kimball, SD, expanding the family farm. Jerome brought one of the first four wheel drive tractors into Brule County from Canada. He was always trying to find ways to be more efficient in farming and in growing the farm. Jerome retired in 1996 and he and Helen moved to Brandon, SD. Jerome started a tree farm, which kept him busy and meeting new people. They enjoyed many winters in Texas with family and friends. Jerome was proud that he and Helen traveled extensively throughout the years. Jerome enjoyed playing cards, watching the stock market and spending time with his grandchildren and his great grandchildren.

Jerome was a previous member of Kimball Lutheran Church and a current member of the Brandon Lutheran Church.
