Funeral services for Janice K. Miller, 51, of Kimball, SD will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 17, 2023 at the Kimball Protestant Parish in Kimball, SD with burial in the Kimball Cemetery at Kimball, SD.  Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the Kimball Protestant Parish in Kimball, SD.

Janice Kay Miller, age 51, of Kimball, South Dakota entered the gates of heaven Sunday, July 9, 2023 at the Sanford Hospital in Chamberlain.  Janice was born on August 20, 1971 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.  She grew up on the family farm in Kimball, South Dakota.  She was baptized at Lutheran Social Services and later dedicated and confirmed and became a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church.  She attended Kimball High School and graduated in 1991.  After high school she went on to Dakota Wesleyan University.  Janice had a love for kids and helping others. She was especially proud of her Miller nieces and nephews and their kids.  She shared her love for kids as a Nanny for several families in South Dakota, Nebraska, and Pennsylvania.  She also worked in home health and as a medical aide until her health deteriorated.  Janice enjoyed attending the events of her nieces and nephews.  She also had a love for shopping, Mickey Mouse, and elephants.

She was preceded in death by her father, Fred Jr Miller, Uncle Jack Mortrude, Grandparents Art and Helena Goodman, Fred and Kathryn Miller, great nephews Jacob Soulek and Alden Wilhoyt; biological mother Joan Holm and biological grandparents Erwin and Alma Holm and Uncle Walter Hallman.

Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Ethel Miller; siblings Dean (Pat) Miller, Sharon (Dan Fraser) Walters and David Miller; nieces and nephews Josh (Tara) Miller, AshleyAnn (Clayton) Weber, Clifton (Tracey) Walsh, Shalon Walsh, Kriston Walsh, Clayton (Victoria Mueller) Walsh, Jesslon Walsh; Keith (Crissy) Kappedal, and Cody Miller; and great nieces and nephews Ami and Raya Miller, Marley, Layla and Mila Weber, Callen and Chasen Walsh, Nathan (Ella) Jones, Kylie Shaffer, Danica Bauerle, Tucker Houser, Cedar Walsh, Jace Soulek, Abraham and Jada Wilhoyt, Jacob and Taylor Kappedal, and Mark David Miller; Aunts Donna (Phillip Caslin) Southern, Delores Mortude, Jean (Dwain) Blackwell, Marlys Hallman, and Lois (Ross) Goodrich.

Janice always felt the utmost gratitude to her birth family for placing her with parents who loved her unconditionally.  The members of this family that will cherish her memory are Aunts Karen Ceisel and Kedrin Wurmsek and Uncle Jim Holm.  Sisters Christina (Dustin Lanners) Snyder and their daughters Aubrey and Paisley and Jazelle (Travis) Koch and their son Domanick.
