James M. Kramer, 87, of Chamberlain, passed away Thursday, November 17 , 2022 at Sanford Care Center-Chamberlain, SD.  Jim was born June 15 , 1935, in Madison, SD, the son of George and Anna (Hemmer) Kramer.  Jim attended school in Flandreau.  Jim enlisted in the US Navy in November 1955 and was honorably discharged in October 1959 .  (He received a Good Conduct Medal for period ending November 1958 ).  He was united in marriage to Emily Francis Jennings.  They lived in Sioux Falls, SD and Baltic, SD.  Jim worked for John Morrell & Company in Sioux Falls before retiring to fish in Chamberlain, SD in approximately 1984.

Jim is survived by his children, Sharon (Kevin) Hopkins of Concord, CA, Doug (Helen) Kramer of Kearney, NE, Margie (Michael) Heinz of Tacoma, WA, Sandra Peterson (Steve) of Hudson,  WI, and Daniel (Sarah) Kramer of Sioux Falls, SD. 15 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.

Jim was preceded in death by his special friend Delilia (Dee) Westre, and siblings, George, Louie, Ed, Tom, John, Sam, Margaret, Norbert, and Mary.

Jim donated his body to USD Medical School in Vermillion, SD.  Memorial and funeral services will be held later.  Arrangements are pending with the Hickey Funeral Home in Chamberlain, SD.  Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.
