Funeral services for Herold C. Hubbard, 100, of Chamberlain, SD will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 16, 2024 at the United Church of Christ in Chamberlain with burial in the Riverview Cemetery at Chamberlain.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., Friday at the church.

Herold Calvin Hubbard, age 100, of Chamberlain, SD died August 9, 2024 at Sanford Chamberlain Care Center.

Herold was born March 15, 1924, the sixth child of Walter and Alice (Jacobson) Hubbard in Presho, South Dakota. After graduation from Presho High School, class of 1942, Herold began a lifelong career in the farm implement business, joining his father, Walter. Herold continued to own and operate a Hubbard Implement Dealership until 2014, when at the age of 90, he retired.

Herold united in marriage with Janice F. Mckee on August 1, 1946, and they made their home in Presho until 1962, moving to Chamberlain when Herold purchased the IH company owned store. Herold's sons Dennis and Calvin later joined him in that business.

In 2017 Herold began his residency at the Chamberlain Sanford Care Center, where he celebrated his 100th birthday in March with family and friends.

He was a member of the United Church of Christ in Chamberlain.

Gratefully sharing his life are his daughter Connie (Drake) Wood of Lennox, SD, son Calvin Hubbard of Chamberlain, daughter in law Carla (Balster) Hubbard of Chamberlain, eight grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and many other friends and relatives.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife Janice, son Dennis, five brothers, and four sisters.
