A public visitation will be held for Helen A. Hieb, 95, of Chamberlain, SD on Monday, June 14, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Hickey Funeral Chapel in Chamberlain.

Private family funeral services will be held with burial in the Reliance Cemetery at Reliance.

Helen Agnes Petersik was born July 8, 1925 at Winner, SD to Emmanuel and Anna Marie (Karas) Petersik.  She attended catholic school in Winner, SD through the eighth grade.

In 1941, Helen was united in marriage to Walter Raymond Larsen whom passed away in 1965.

In 1967, Helen was united in marriage to Joseph R. Hieb.  This union created a family with eight children.

Helen worked on the ranch and was the owner of the Reliance Café for over 26 years.  She also helped Joe with the Standard Oil Business and delivery of rural mail.  Joe and Helen enjoyed many other endeavors together.

She enjoyed working in her garden, canning, cooking, reading, and quilting.  She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She loved celebrating birthdays and was known as the "Rose Lady".   Helen and Joe enjoyed traveling many places together.

Helen passed away on June 11, 2021 at Sanford Care Center in Chamberlain, SD.  Gratefully sharing her life are her children Larry (Elaine) Larsen of Chamberlain, SD, Lynette (Sonny) Riley of Farmington, NM, Stacey (Debby) Hieb of Reliance, SD, Joel Hieb of Fort Pierre, SD, David (Diane) Hieb of Chamberlain, SD, Lowell (Cassidy) Hieb of Chamberlain, SD, daughter Pam Palmer of Chamberlain, SD; son-in-law Terry Danhour; and several grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husbands Walter and Joseph, and daughter Gail Danhour.
