Harlee was born on August 27, 1975, to Harvey (Snooky) Langdeau and Cheryl Bad Horse in Chamberlain, SD and passed suddenly at home on May 30, 2021.
Harlee was an enrolled member of Lower Brule Sioux Tribe and attended elementary, middle, and high school in Lower Brule, where he was nicknamed "Mr. Hustle" while playing basketball and graduating in 1994. He attended Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell for two years before returning to Lower Brule. He was employed at Squeaky Door Market, Firefighter for the BIA, Lower Brule Housing, Lower Brule High School and Choal's Construction. But his favorite job was working as a full-time cowboy at The LaRoche Ranch.
He enjoyed spending time with all family and friends who will miss him dearly. He coached his sons in various sports activities and welcomed other youth into his home while traveling for games. He shared his knowledge with anyone who shared his love of basketball, football, etc. Harlee was an avid fan of all sports at Lower Brule High School, but his absolute favorite activity was watching the Washington Redskins football team play.
He enjoyed bowling, watching softball games, and could be found watching ESPN sports day or night.
He is survived by his parents Fritz and Cheryll LaRoche, special friend Joelle Battese, sons Reuben Estes, Harlee Langdeau II, and Jerwyn Wilson and grandsons Caiden and Bentley. Beloved grandmothers Julia Yellow Robe and Irene Skunk. Siblings Stephanie Langdeau, Robert Bad Horse, Jeremiah LaRoche, Jordon Langdeau, Frederick LaRoche, Sierra Wilson, Samantha LaRoche, and Jeanie Langdeau. Aunties Gayle Ziegler, Marilyn Harmon, Phyllis Crazy Bull, Connie LaRoche, and Jody McCauley. Numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He held Baby Jordan and Everly Onalee "BadBad" very close to his heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents Harvey Langdeau and Cheryl Bad Horse, siblings Mikey Langdeau, Julie Langdeau, Harvey Landeau Jr., and Merle Wilson Jr., and grandparents.
He was the epitome of "salt of the earth". Harlee was loved by many and will be dearly missed. He was humble, gracious, kind, comforting, and never turned away anyone who needed his help.
A friend to ALL!
