Funeral Service for Greg E. LaRoche, 53, of Lower Brule, SD will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at the Lower Brule Community Center in Lower Brule, SD. A Celebration of Greg's life will be held Sunday and Monday evenings 7:00pm at the Lower Brule Community Center.

Gregory Eugene LaRoche Sr., age 53, passed away on Friday, October 12, 2018, at the Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. He was born April 17, 1965 in Chamberlain, SD, to single mother Joyce LaRoche who later married Douglas White Bull in 1975.

Greg graduated High School in 1983 at Fort Yates, ND. From there he went into the Job Corps, Ogden, UT, where he graduated in 1984 and then served in the U.S. Navy before returning home to Lower Brule, SD, where he remained until his death.

In 1988 he met Darla Langdeaux who had two children Ryan LeCompte, and Beth (Marvin) Parker from a previous marriage and together they added four children to the family Gregory Jr, Royce, Ravyn (Kyle) Fonder and Ramsey.

In 2006, Greg was diagnosed with PKD a genetic kidney disorder and eventually lost both kidneys. He received a life-saving kidney donation from Lenora Langdeau in 2011 that carried him through his remaining years but unfortunately underlying conditions he battled took hold leading to the transplant failure and further deterioration of his health.

Greg loved the peace he got from camping and fishing along the Missouri River with his family and friends. He enjoyed competing in horse-shoe tournaments, having get-togethers, bonfires and cookouts, playing cards with family and friends, reminiscing about the days gone bye. He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed by his very large family and group of friends.

He is survived by his brother Wilbert White Bull, sisters Gayla (Jim) Schock, Juliana (Crawford) Taken Alive, Jonny White Bull, John "Bubba" Red Legs, his children Gregory Jr, Royce, Ravyn Fonder and Ramsey LaRoche; Grand Children Faith, Black Cloud, Diesel, Hunter, KJ, Bella, Jiraiya, Blu, Matthew, Elijah and Zachariah. Aunties Norma Defender, Alfreda LeCompte, Gwen Jandreau, Jeanette "Auntie Fun Fun" St John, special cousins Marlys, Laurel, LeAnne, Tammie, Larry and Lindsey.

Greg will also be forever remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends.

Preceded in death by Mother Joyce White Bull, brother Douglas White Bull Jr. (Bee-jay), cousin JD Jandreau, step-son Ryan LeCompte, Uncle Bucky, Bernard, Bill and Auntie Anne and Jeannie, Grand Parents Sylvester and Ollie LaRoche.
