Funeral services for Glenda M. Stands-Skunk, 42, of Lower Brule, SD will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 6, 2021 at the Lower Brule Elementary Gymnasium with burial in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at Lower Brule, SD.  Wake services will be Wednesday and Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at the Lower Brule Elementary Gymnasium in Lower Brule, SD.

Glenda Marie Stands was born October 11, 1978 at Yankton, SD to Joseph Wayne and Valerie Jane (Stands) Skunk.  She was raised in Ideal, SD, moved to Lower Brule and later moved to Sioux Falls, SD before returning to Lower Brule, SD.

She attended school in Ideal, at St. Joseph's Indian School, and Lower Brule, SD.

Glenda was such a beautiful, smart, loving, caring woman.  She had a beautiful smile and a loving soul.  She loved spending her time with friends and family, especially her kids and grandkids.  She was always cracking jokes.

Glenda passed away on July 30, 2021 at Ava's House in Sioux Falls, SD.  Gratefully sharing her life are her grandmother Irene Skunk of Lower Brule, SD; sons Deveron Tyler Stands of Lower Brule, SD, Shawn Patrick Willis Jr. of Sioux Falls, SD, Shance Joseph Wayne Willis of Gregory, SD; daughters Kayler Josephine (Deion) Stands of Sioux Falls, SD Sarennedy Jane Stands of Ideal, SD, Siersha Irene Willis of Ideal, SD; her grandchildren Kaydri Ileen Faulks of Sioux Falls, SD, Aubrey Sky and Devlin Wayne Stands of Lower Brule, SD; brother Llewellyn Hood of Lower Brule, SD, uncles Bruce Stands of Ideal, SD, Brad Stands of Rapid City, Cameron Stands and Collin Stands of Ideal, SD, Walter Stands of Ideal, SD; aunts Lucille Skunk-Marshall (Tim), Ella (Woody) Drapeau, Josephine Skunk, and Fedelia Skunk.

Preceding her in death were her parents Joseph and Valerie, her grandparents Clarence and Josephine Stands, her grandpa Joseph P. Skunk, her twin brother Glen William, her sister Josette Wynn, her son Sage Lavern Gregor, aunts Nadine, Maxine, Paula, Peggy, Brenda, Susie, Tracy, Bev, and Shannon; uncles Cleveland, Trevor, Clarence Jr., and John.
