Funeral services for George Nathan Comes Flying Jr., 46, of Fort Thompson, SD will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 15, 2024 at the Crow Creek Tribal Hall Gymnasium in Fort Thompson, SD with burial in the Saint Catherine's Catholic Cemetery at West Bend, SD.  Wake services will be 7:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the Crow Creek Tribal Hall Gymnasium in Fort Thompson, SD.

Anyone wishing to follow, the procession will leave at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday from the funeral home.

George Nathan Comes Flying was born February 14, 1978 in Wessington Springs, SD to George N. Comes Flying Sr. and Kateri Howell.  George passes away on June 7, 2024 at Sioux Falls, SD.

George (Rump) had so many nicknames.

He attended Crow Creek High School and graduated in 1996.  He finished some college.

George Jr. held various positions with the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe and also worked at the Crow Creek Tribal School.

George cherished his siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends.

George had a good sense of humor.  He loved to joke with this crazy humor he was loved by many.

George defended his family and all those he loved.  He was a very outgoing guy.  He helped with what he had.  He would give his last to those in need.  Although he didn't have children of his own, he fostered so many children by taking them in, caring and loving them like his own..

George is survived by his mother Kateri Tiger of Omaha, NE, brothers Brandon Comes Flying, Jacob Come Flying, Gerritt Voice John Boy Voice, Bernie Merritt, and Kyle Merritt, sisters Krista Comes Flying, Vanessa Voice, McKenzie Comes Flying, Charity and Daisy Merritt, all his nieces, nephews, and cousins too numerous to name.

Preceding him in death were his father George Nathan Comes Flying Sr., brothers Dennis Comes Flying, paternal Grandparents Nathan Comes Flying, Belva With Horn, maternal grandparents Tom & Virginia Howell, aunts Theresa Comes Flying, and Linda Ross, uncle Fred Comes Flying and Bruce With Horn.
