Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Monday, May 20, 2019 at the Lower Brule Community Center in Lower Brule with burial in the Holy Name Episcopal Cemetery at Fort George, SD. Wake services will be Saturday and Sunday evening at 7:00 pm at the Lower Brule Community Center in Lower Brule, SD.
Gary Rae LaRoche, 65, of Lower Brule SD passed away suddenly on May 15, 2019.
Gary was born on May 27, 1953 in Hot Springs SD to his mother and father, Patty (Wilson) and Harold LaRoche. He had one sister Lisa Ann, one Brother Michael Dennis, and a half brother David Jess. Gary lived an amazing life, starting out his young life in SD and the area of Hannah WY, where they lost his mother when he was 8 years old. His Father remarried and the family moved to Alaska in 1971. Gary talked about Alaska often. In 1973 his Father Harold passed and in 1974 the family moved back to SD Gary's young adult life was full of adventure working different jobs that took him to different parts of the country. In 1985 while in Denver CO he met Linda Jenkins(later married) which would be the start of his family. In 1986 they moved to SD where his son Dennis Aaron was born. A short while later in 1988 while living in NE his daughter Nikki Lynn was born. For most of his life Gary worked as a carpenter which also took him to many places across the country which he loved. He had a love for animals, he loved nature, he loved to fish, he loved music, and he loved all his family. Gary was preceded in passing by his sister Lisa Ann, brother Michael Dennis, his Father Harold and mother Patty. Gary was survived by his half brother David Jess, son Dennis Aaron (Ashley), daughter Nikki Lynn (Eddie), and two grandchildren.
A special thanks to Lower Brule Sioux Tribe. Being a part of the tribe and community brought him some of the greatest joy and happiness one can find in this life.
