Funeral services for Francis R. Milnar, 78, of Kennebec, SD will be 10:30 am Monday, June 3, 2019 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Kennebec, SD with burial in the St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery at Kennebec.  Visitation will begin Sunday at 6:00 pm with a scripture/rosary service at 7:00 pm at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Kennebec.

Francis Raymond Milnar was born in Presho January 10, 1941 to Frank and Elizabeth (Jacoby) Milnar.  He attended school at Kennebec and graduated from Kennebec High School in May of 1962.  After high school, Francis began working at the Lyman County Courthouse as the custodian which he did for 44 years retiring in 2006. Around September of 2017, due to health reasons, Francis moved to Riverview Retirement Assisted Living in Chamberlain.

He loved going to Bingo on Fridays and playing pitch at the Legion during the holidays.  He won several turkeys and hams which he loved to share.  He also enjoyed going to the Legion for the pancake breakfasts.

Francis was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Kennebec.

Francis passed away on May 28, 2019 at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 78.  Gratefully sharing his life are his sister Mary Mick currently residing at Prairie View Assisted Living, Kimball (formerly of Kennebec); four nieces Melinda (Don) McManus, Reliance; Monica (Troy) Swanson, Pukwana; Tammy Ranum, Sioux Falls; and Susan Carrizales, Sioux Falls; two nephews Rodney Mick, Kennebec; and Gregory (Kayla) Mick, Lewisville, TX; and their families.

Preceding him in death were his parents and brother George.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Riverview Retirement for the wonderful care Francis received and to Sharon Smith for providing transportation to weekly church services.
