Memorial services for Francis C. "Fran" Drew, 85, of Chamberlain, SD will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at the Pukwana Free Lutheran Church in Pukwana, SD with burial of the ashes in the Riverview Cemetery at Chamberlain.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
Francis C. Drew was born July 23, 1935 at Chamberlain, SD to Robert F. and Myrtle (Zoost) Drew. He attended school at Chamberlain and graduate from Chamberlain High School.
After high school, Fran enlisted in the South Dakota Army National Guard making it his career for over 38 years. He retired as the Shop Chief of the 200 th Engineer Guard Unit in Chamberlain, SD.
On August 7, 1981, Fran was united in marriage to Rebecca Dixon at Elk Point, SD. They made their home in Chamberlain until moving to Mitchell in 2020 to be near their daughter Sam.
Fran enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He was a member of the Johnson Peterson Post of Reliance, the Chamberlain Jaycee's, the Chamberlain-Oacoma Volunteer Fire Department, and a board member of the Pukwana Free Lutheran Church.
Fran passed away on May 28, 2021 at his home in Mitchell, SD at the age of 85 years. Gratefully sharing his life are his wife Rebecca Drew of Mitchell; two sons Scott Drew of Rapid City, SD and Jason (Benita) Drew of Pottsville, AR; two daughters Lynette (Monte) Sullivan of Indianapolis, IN and Samantha Keckler (Nathan Schaub) of Mitchell, SD; a brother George Drew of Rapid City, SD; sister Nolaine Drew of Chamberlain, SD; ten grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and many other nieces, nephews, and relatives.
Preceding him in death were his parents Robert and Myrtle; son-in-law Justin Keckler; grandson Bradley Hines; three sisters Gen (Sonny) Doran, Darlene Bradler, and Roberta (Sheldon) Pingrey; mother and father-in-law Milo and Dorothy Dixon.
