Obituary

Funeral services for Fenette J. Middletent, 46, of Pukwana, SD will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 17, 2024 at the Lower Brule Community Center in Lower Brule, SD with burial at the Lester Thompson residence in Crow Creek, SD. Wake services will be 7:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the Lower Brule Community Center in Lower Brule, SD.

Anyone wishing to follow, the procession will leave at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday from the funeral home.

Fenette "Puffer" Jean Middletent, made her journey to the Spirit World on February 13, 2024 joining her grandmother Mary Shields.

Fenette was born March 19, 1977 to Denise Middletent and Theodore McCauley Sr. She was born and raised in Chamberlain/Oacoma, SD her whole life, where she shared precious, nonstop laughing memories with all those who known her. She was always an outgoing individual making people feel welcomed, cracking inside jokes and always greeting people with her beautiful big smile and her fiery spirit. She graduated from Chamberlain High School in 1995 then attended Mitchell Technical Institute graduating in 2002 with her degree in medical laboratory science.  She started her career at Mid Dakota Hospital and then Ft Thompson IHS, where she was passionate about her career. Most of her adult life she raised three beautiful children; Mashaya (Thompson) Engel, Madison Thompson and Jasiah Thompson with her best friend Lester Thompson Jr. out in Shelby, South Dakota. She was a proud mother of her children's accomplishments. She will be missed creating crazy memories during softball, singing Beyoncè and visiting friends and family.

Fenette is survived by her three children, grandchild, Ava Engel, her lifelong friend Lester, her fur babies; Sage, Gracie, Blue and Mr Snaggle tooth, her mother Denise Middletent, step father Terry Kenobbie, father, Theodore McCauley, Mother In Law; Marilyn Wells, sisters; Amy, Emily, Amber, Cora, Thea, Samantha, Julia, Kasey, sister in law; Kristy Wolf, step sister; Christine, brothers; Orson, Derek, TJ, Martin, and Andre; her very special auntie Mavis; aunts, uncles, cousins and many nieces and nephews and the Chamberlain softball community.
