Funeral services for Erwin N. LaRoche will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at the Lower Brule Community Center in Lower Brule, SD with burial in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at Lower Brule, SD.  Wake services will be 7:00 p.m., Sunday and Monday at the Lower Brule Community Center in Lower Brule, SD.

Anyone wishing to follow, the procession will leave at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Sunday from the funeral home.

Erwin N. LaRoche, 86, of Lower Brule, SD passed away on September 1,2024 at Sanford Medical Center in Chamberlain, SD just one day after his lifelong friend Vance Jandreau.

Erwin N. LaRoche was born February 17, 1938 at Old Fort Thompson, SD.to Alex LaRoche and Mabel Black Tomahawk.  He attended school at Stephan, SD and Flandreau, SD.

Erwin enlisted in the U.S. Marines and served during the Korean War.

He worked for the Lower Brule Sioux Tribe for over 40 years in the Relocation Housing Department, with his longtime friend Vance Jandreau.  They traveled all across the country moving people, hauling vehicles and fulfilling many work orders together before retiring.

He was a lifelong Raiders fan.  He loved riding his motorcycle and going on many Poker Runs with his homies.  Erwin is survived by his children, many grandchildren, and other family members too numerous to mention.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, brothers, sisters, and many other relatives and friends (two legged and four).
