Obituary

Funeral services for Eric L. Dolezal, 35, of Sioux Falls, SD formerly of Fort Thompson, SD will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Fort Thompson, SD with burial in Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery at Stephan, SD.  Wake services will be Monday at 7:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Fort Thompson, SD.

Eric Lee Dolezal was born January 19, 1988 to Ronald Dolezal and Linda (Ross) Dolezal in Sioux Falls, SD.  He attended grade school at Fort Thompson Elementary School in Fort Thompson, SD and then Crow Creek High School in Stephan, SD.

Early in life Eric met Nicole Jones and together they had four children Eliza, Brooklyn, Andrew, and Heidi.  He earned his way working with his hands doing repairs at housing, working with concrete with his dad, roofing, paving, framing, and flooring.  He was a very hard worker.

Eric loved his children and enjoyed taking them fishing.  He loved sports and during his high school years he played baseball, football, and excelled in basketball.

Eric passed away on March 12, 2023 at the home he shared with his special friend Oceana Pickner in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 35 years.

Eric leaves behind his children Eliza of Fort Thompson, SD, Brooklyn, Andrew, and Heidi Dolezal all of Winner, SD; two stepchildren Malaya and Stephan of Fort Thompson, SD; five sisters Samantha Dolezal of Sioux Falls, SD, Lisa Dolezal of Springfield, MN, Stephanie Dolezal of Minneapolis, MN, Shannon Dolezal of Mitchell, SD, and Ricki Rencountre of Fort Thompson, SD; a brother Ronald J. Dolezal, Jr. of Springfield, MN; his father and stepmother Ronald and Lori L. Dolezal Sr. of Fort Thompson, SD; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Preceding him in death were his mother Linda Ross, aunt Teresa Comes Flying-Miller, grandmother Mary Jane "Bunny" Johnson, and grandparents Lloyd and Belva (Withhorn) Ross.
