Funeral services for Elvera J. Driving Hawk, 23, of Pierre, SD will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 4, 2025 at the Holy Comforter Episcopal Church in Lower Brule, SD with burial in the Holy Name Episcopal Cemetery at Fort George, SD.  Wake services will be 7:00 pm., Friday at the Holy Comforter Episcopal Church in Lower Brule, SD.

Anyone wishing to follow, the procession will leave from funeral home on Friday at 3:00 p.m.

Elvera Joan Driving Hawk was born December 18, 2001 to Patrick Driving Hawk Sr. and Melony Shields.  After they parted ways in 2005, Brandi Rockwood came into their lives and became Elvera's stepmother in 2006 when Patrick and Brandi were married and raised the children together.

Elvera attended elementary school and in 2020 graduated from Lower Brule Tribal High School in Lower Brule, SD.  Throughout her middle school and high school years she participated in volleyball and basketball.  After high school, she began pursuing her career in nursing.  She worked at Peaceful Pines Senior Living, Edgewood Assisted Living, and most recently was working at Vista Care Assisted Living.  She loved her job dearly, the people she worked with, and her patients.  The bond between her and her patients is something she cherished very much.

Elvera was beautiful inside and out.  Everywhere she went she made friends and left her mark.  Elvera was a very loving and caring person.  She was known for her laugh and the ability to light up any room.  She had a passion for nature, turtles, and horses.  Her presence made the world a better place because she had such a big heart.

Elvera entered the Spirit World on September 28, 2025.  Gratefully sharing her life are her parents Patrick and Brandi Driving Hawk, brothers Pat Jr., Steven, Xavier, and Ronald; sister Caitlyn; and will be remembered and cherished by many relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

She will be met at the Heavenly Gates by her grandma Elvera, grandpa Ronald, grandpa Darrell, and many other close relatives and friends.
