Funeral services for Elvah J. LaRoche, 61, of Sioux Falls, SD will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, July 15, 2024 at the Holy Comforter Episcopal Church in Lower Brule, SD with burial in the Holy Comforter Episcopal Cemetery at Lower Brule, SD.  Wake services will be 7:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Holy Comforter Episcopal Church Hall in Lower Brule, SD.

Anyone wishing to follow, the procession will leave at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday from the funeral home.

Elvah Jean Crazy Bull was born September 7, 1962 at Chamberlain, SD to Phyllis (Langdeau) cCrazy Bull and Alvah Crazy Bull to whom preceded her in death.

Elvah grew up in Lower Brule and attended Lower Brule High School until the age of 16.  She then went on to attend the Clear Field Utah Job Corps Center.  Elvah became pregnant with her oldest child Trudy Rae Hawkwing who also preceded Elvah in death.

Elvah met the father of her five children, Lawrence LaRoche Sr.  To that union, Lawrence Lance LaRoche, Elmer Gene LaRoche, Lauren LaRoche, Skyla LaRoche, Marty LaRoche, and Santanna LaRoche were born.  Marty has also preceded Elvah in death.

Elvah enjoyed being a mother and took on the role of caretaker very well.  She loved spending time with family and loved her children more than anything.

Elvah dreamed of being a Culinary Chef and had attended classes at Augustana University.  She had worked the Lower Brule Elementary for 10 years and the Golden Buffalo Casino on and off for 20 years.  Elvah has 19 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Elvah passed away on July 5, 2024 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 61.
