Funeral services for Ellsworth P. Langdeau, 37, of Lower Brule, SD will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at the Lower Brule Community Center in Lower Brule, SD with burial in the Messiah Episcopal Cemetery at Iron Nation, SD.  Wake services will be Monday and Tuesday evening at 8:00 p.m. at the Lower Brule Community Center in Lower Brule, SD.

Ellsworth "Sonny Boy" Langdeau was born on April 17, 1983 to Mary Marlene P.S. Flute and Leonard Allen Langdeau in Chamberlain, SD.

He attended his first through eighth grade school at Lower Brule Elementary and his high school years at various boarding schools before returning to Lower Brule High School where he completed the tenth grade.

Sonny Boy had two beautiful children whom he loved dearly and was very proud of: Jeremy Allen Langdeau and Sunni Lee Langdeau.

During his adult life, Sonny Boy worked in various construction jobs with his friends and family throughout South Dakota eventually coming home to work with Lower Brule Employment Enterprise for many years.

His most recent employment was at the LaRoche Ranch working as a ranch hand which he enjoyed immensely.  (He always considered himself a Cowboy.) He always attended the Branding events put on by the local ranchers annually.

Sonny Boy enjoyed being with his family and friends and was always willing to give a helping hand when needed.

Those of us who knew Sonny Boy knew of his smiling joking nature.  He always had us laughing no matter the occasion or how he felt.  He was always very generous even though he had very little, he was always willing to share.

Although he was short in stature, he was a strong stout man who wasn't afraid of anyone or anything.  Despite all this he had a big heart and kindness came easy to him whether he knew you or not.

Ellsworth passed away on March 11, 2021 at Ava's House in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 37 years.  Gratefully sharing his life are his two children Jeremy Allen Langdeau and Sunni Lee Langdeau; his brothers Levi D. P.S. Flute of Sioux Falls, SD, Heath Allen (Roseanne) Langdeau of Fort Thompson, SD, Darin D. P.S. Flute (Trina) of Lower Brule, SD; sisters Jeananne M. P.S. Flute of Chicago, IL, Ellen "Co-Co" (Ronald) P.S. Flute, Marilyn R. Langdeau, and Marialan P. Langdeau (Daniel) all of Lower Brule, SD; and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents Leonard and Mary; nieces Ronnette R. Middletent and Janise M. P.S. Flute; paternal grandparents Ellsworth and Sylvia Langdeau; maternal grandparents Daniel and Irene P.S. Flute; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and relatives.
