Funeral services for Dorothy J. Dockter , 68 of Chamberlain will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 11, 2026 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Chamberlain with burial in the Riverview Cemetery at Chamberlain.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services.

Dorothy June Dockter was born February 26, 1958 to Ervin J. and Yvonne (DuVall) Dockter at Chamberlain, SD.  She attended Chamberlain Public School, graduating in 1976.  After high school, she did correspondence courses for restaurant management.

Dorothy was employed in the kitchen at the Community Bailey Hospital, later Mid Dakota Hospital and around 1997 she began working at Al's Oasis managing the salad bar.  She worked there until the time of her passing.

Dorothy loved to decorate cakes.  She enjoyed the animals on the ranch and also loved quilting.

Around 2000, Dorothy was very active in fundraising for the local American Cancer Society which she did for many years.

Dorothy passed away on April 6, 2026 at home in Chamberlain, SD.  Gratefully sharing her life are her siblings Mick and Ruth Dockter of Kimball, SD, Beverly Dockter of Chamberlain, SD, Roger Dockter of Chamberlain, SD, Peggy and Rolland Hotchkin of Huron, SD, Kevin and Amy Dockter of Wheaton, WY, and many cousins, nieces, nephews and relatives.

Preceding her in death were her parents and an infant sister.
