Funeral services for Donald W. Janik, 82, of Pukwana will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 30, 2023 at the United Church of Christ in Chamberlain, SD with burial in the Bohemian National Cemetery at rural Pukwana.  Visitation will be 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Sunday at the Hickey Funeral Chapel in Chamberlain.

Donald Wayne Janik 82, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, January 22, 2023.

Donald Wayne Janik was born on March 23, 1940 to Cyrill & Lillian (Soulek) Janik in Chamberlain, SD graduating from Kimball High School. He worked at a service station and farmed with his father right outside of Kimball until they purchased the farm south of Pukwana. On July 15, 1960, Donald was united in marriage to Darlene Kindopp and to this union 4 children were born.

Don spent his whole life farming the land & raising livestock, enjoying every minute of the quiet country life. In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting & fishing.  He took great joy in giving tractor rides to his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Gratefully sharing in his life are his wife, Darlene; daughters Denise (Joe) Mashek, Debbie Janik, & Darmi (George) Lowe; 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Cyrill & Lillian Janik; a brother; three sisters; daughter DeAnn (Harless); and a grandson Jason.
