Funeral services for Dennis Steckelberg will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 4, 2021 at the United Church of Christ in Chamberlain, SD with burial in the Riverview Cemetery in Chamberlain, SD.

Dennis (Denny) Wayne Steckelberg passed away on November 25, 2021 at the age of 75 after a two-year battle with cancer.

Denny was born on December 21, 1945 to Milton and Alyce (Speckels) Steckelberg.  He moved to Gillette, Wyoming in the early 1970's as the big oil boom was taking place. Denny worked at AMAX, Bell Ayre, and Eagle Butte mines and retired in February of 2008. After his retirement he started the Powder River Trikers, a motorcycle club for all his rider friends. Denny also loved auctions and attended most of them with his good buddy Vic. Denny was also a founding member of the Lakers Car Club in Chamberlain, South Dakota with Denny Hubbard, Dick Pankonen, Gary Fisher, and Gary Reuer. Both the Lakers and Powder River Bikers are still active.

He is survived by his wife Hertha (Thompson) Steckelberg of Gillette, WY; His mother Alyce Steckelberg of Chamberlain, SD; brothers Dob (Darryl) Steckelberg of Yankton, SD; Oz (Don) Steckelberg of Chamberlain, SD; and Mike Steckelberg of Sioux Falls, SD; stepson Jeff Broitzman of Jackson, MN; stepdaughter Dawn Broitzman of Myrtle, MN; and step- grandchildren James Broitzman of Rochester, MN; Bryce Pratt of Northwood, IA; Levi Broitzman of Windom, MN; Evan Broitzman of Jackson, MN.
