Funeral services for Dena D. His Law, 65, of Fort Thompson, SD will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at Diamond Willow Ministries in Fort Thompson, SD with burial in the Christ Episcopal Cemetery at Fort Thompson, SD. Wake services will be 7:00 p.m. Sunday and Monday at Diamond Willow Ministries in Fort Thompson, SD.
Anyone wishing to follow, the procession will leave from funeral home on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
Dena Dawn His Law, of Fort Thompson, SD, Passed Away on November 21st, 2025 at Chamberlain Hospital. She was born to Lucille His Law and Duey Crow. From the very beginning she carried a loving, gentle spirit that touched everyone who knew her.
Dena attended Pierre Indian Learning Center and later graduated from Flandreau Indian School. Throughout her life she remained close to her family and proud of her roots.
She is survived by her siblings: Charley His Law, Vicki Lambert, Pam George and Chris George. She now joins her sister Rose (Cookie) Roberts who passed before her.
Dena was blessed with a beautiful and ever-growing family. She was the loving mother to Jasmine His Law, Cheyenne His Law, Jada His Law and Colell (Pedo) His Law. She also lovingly embraced Jeffrey His Law (Alyssa Box), Shane Jones (Tatianna Doucette), and Robert Mavins as her own.
Her greatest Joy came from being a grandmother. She cherished each of her grandchildren: Winter Hawk, Roland Hawk, Jr., Samantha His Law, Dena Hawk, Evon Drappeaux, Sybil His Law, Amanda Thompson, Malachi Moloto, Jaemon Comes Flying, Samuel Antelope, Miles His Law, Norsean Hawk, Savanna Antelope, Quentin His Law, Sebastian Antelope, J'Marie His Law, Jayce Jones, Reese Jones, Dale Hawk, Aliyah His Law, Colell(CJ) His Law Jr., Loyalty Hawk, Shiela Antelope and Viola His Law.
Dena was also blessed with one great grandchild Ma'Kai Hawk, who brought her so much joy.
She held close her special nieces Rhonda Thodile, Jeannene Roberts, Shannon Shields and Dawn Shields, loving them as deeply as if they were her own children.
Dena will always be remembered as a loving, selfless, caring, big-hearted Christian woman. She was constantly preaching the work of God, offering prayers, comfort, and kindness to anyone who needed it. Her faith guided her life, and her heart was open to all.
Her legacy is one of compassion, generosity and unwavering love for her family. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit live on in her children, grandchildren, great grandchild and all who were blessed to know her.
