Funeral services for DeLaus A. Creamer, 88, of Chamberlain, SD will be 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Chamberlain with burial in the Riverview Cemetery at Chamberlain, SD.  Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday at the church.

DeLaus Alton Creamer was born July 18, 1935 in Mitchell, SD to Alton and Shirley (Cummings) Creamer.   DeLaus lived near Bijou Hills during his younger years then moved to his current place when his father bought the Dode Somers place in the fall of 1943.  DeLaus attended Somers and Cable schools then completed his schooling at Chamberlain High School.

On June 11,1958, DeLaus was united in marriage to Darleen G. Balster of Kimball, SD.  They made their home at the Creamer Farm farming the land, raising feeder calves, and later cleaning seed. DeLaus and Alton started the seed business in 1968, first cleaning seed for their own use then expanding to a business.

DeLaus Creamer also started fixing airplanes in 1986 which was always a passion for him. He rebuilt airplanes and later built ultra lights. DeLaus liked jokingly to say, "Most parents worry about their kids taking their cars for a drive, I had to worry about my kids taking the airplane after I taught them how to fly!"

Gratefully sharing his life are his daughters Francine Swanson of Chamberlain, SD, Julie (Lanny) Renshaw of Lincoln, NE, Linda Creamer of Andover, MN and Gene (Paula) Creamer of Dorchester, NE. Grandchildren: Jennifer, Ryan, Craig, Tiffany (Michael) Sinkie, Cody, Kyle, Kelsey Swanson; Tyson, Jarrek, Nicola, Jave, Mason Renshaw; Misty Lewis (Nicholi) Freeman, Charde (Jim) McGuiggan, Shaleena, Terence, Janaya (John) Hodson, Casey, Bryce, Aunika Lewis; Tiernan (Hope) Creamer, Ripley (Chris) Nelson, Kyra Creamer. Great-grandchildren: Sophe, Quincy, Amira Freeman; James III, Rozz, Lillytu McGuiggan; Kingston, Aubree Lewis; Galilee, Emmaus Creamer, Charlene Nelson.

Preceding him in death was his mother Shirley (Cummings) Creamer, father Alton Creamer, wife Darleen Creamer, grandchild Daniel Swanson.
