Funeral services for David A. Gossel, 72, of Kimball, SD will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 19, 2025 at the Kimball Protestant Parish in Kimball, SD with burial in the Kimball City Cemetery at Kimball, SD.  Visitation will begin one hour prior to the funeral.

David A. Gossel was born October 15, 1952 in Mitchell, SD to Herbert W. and Frances (Friman) Gossel.  He attended grade school in the Bridgewater and Spencer area until the family moved to Kimball 1967 where he attended Kimball High School graduating in 1970.  He worked at the White Lake Co-Op during the summer of 1970 and on October 1, 1971 Herb purchased the Kimball Grain Elevator to run with his sons.  In 1974, Gary joined the grain elevator and the three operated it until their father's death in 2014 and the two brothers continued to operate the elevator together.

Dave enjoyed his customers, delivering grain to them, driving the feed truck and he took the time to know them well.  He always seemed to know when they were out of feed sometimes even before they did.

Dave passed away on July 11, 2025 at Ava's House in Sioux Falls, SD.  He is survived by his brother Gary Gossel of Kimball, SD, a stepsister Barb (Michael) Crandell of Sioux Falls, SD, an aunt Margaret Adel of White, SD; an uncle George Sample of Flandreau, SD; and several cousins and relatives.

Preceding him in death were his mother on September 7, 1974, father Herb on April 9, 2014, a stepbrothers Loren and Richard, and several aunts and uncles.
