A celebration of life Open House for David B. Jones, 64, of Chamberlain, SD will be 2:00 to 5:00 pm Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Al's Oasis Cafe in Oacoma.

David Brian Jones was born May 30, 1954 at Sioux Falls, SD to Ramon Paul and Marion Ann (Schaefers) Jones.  He grew up in Chamberlain where he attended school and graduated from Chamberlain High School in 1972.  After high school, he attended the University of South Dakota in Vermillion and completed his education at Black Hills Technical Institute in Rapid City.

David moved to Yankton where he made his home and worked as a quality control manager.  On July 10th, 1993, David married his childhood sweetheart and the love of his life Kathy (Adamson) Kidd.  In 1995, they moved to Chamberlain where for the past ten years worked at St. Joseph's Indian School.

David enjoyed golfing with friends for many years but his passion was spending time on the Missouri River.  Whether fishing, boating, skiing, or walking on the shores, this was where David always found his peace.

David passed away on January 9, 2019 at Sanford Medical Center in Chamberlain at the age of 64 years.  Gratefully sharing his life are his wife Kathy of Chamberlain; step daughter Kimberly (Kidd) and husband Martin Ledesma of Princeton, TX; step son Beau Kidd and wife Cristina of Crosby, TX; brother Doug Jones and wife Ruth of Pierre, SD and children Meredith and Alex; sister Cindy and husband Tom Tonsager of Goodhue, MN and children Karla and Mike; three grandsons Nicholas, Diego, and Dimitri; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Preceding him in death were his parents Ramon and Marion Jones.
