Obituary

Dana L. Douville, 73, passed away July 2, 2020 at Sanford Medical Center in Chamberlain.  Services will be held at a later date.

Dana was born August 16, 1946 in Chamberlain to Vern L. and Helen E. (Willrich) Douville.  Dana attended Chamberlain High School, graduating in 1964.  He furthered his education at Dakota Wesleyan in Mitchell, SD with a Bachelors Degree in Business Adminstration.  Dana also served in the National Guard from 1966 to 1976.

On September 3, 1977, Dana was united in marriage to Carole Geppert in Reno, NV.  They made their home in Reno where he worked for Bonanza Produce for 29 years.  In 2005, they moved back to Chamberlain where Dana worked for Al's Oasis.

Dana enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing, and gardening while also helping with canning. Dana was an all around handyman who was great to have around.  In his younger years, Dana was a great baseball player.

Dana was grateful for having shared his life with his wife Carole; twin sister Dianna Schilling of Fort Pierre, SD; Lori Houska and husband Mike of Bloomfield, NE; and Sally Steinfeld of Oacoma, SD; step children Carolyn Cooper, Alan Geppert, and Jim Geppert of Reno, NV; Cindy Myers of Oacoma, and Brenda Burull of Chamberlain; and many nieces and nephews.  Dana was preceded in death by his parents Helen and Vern Douville and brothers-in-law John Steinfeld and Vince Schilling.
