Public visitation with rotational limiting of 10 people will take place Saturday, May 23, 2020 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Hickey Funeral Chapel in Chamberlain. Family burial service will be at a later date.

Danny (Dan) Shroyer passed away peacefully at his home in Reliance on May 20, 2020.
Dan was born May 7 th , 1946 in Chamberlain, SD to Clifford Shroyer and Viola (Baker) Shroyer. Dan attended school at Chamberlain and during high school was active in basketball, football and rodeo. Rodeo was his passion and in 1963, he won the SDHS Bareback Championship. When riding the broncos didn't happen anymore, he switched to watching rodeos and PBR any chance he could.
Dan's career in education began in 1967, through his tenure he was a teacher, principal, superintendent and Education Specialist Line Officer for the BIE. He retired in 2008, but that was short lived, he loved his work and became an education consultant.
Dan and Mary Parish were united in marriage on January 20, 1966. Together they enjoyed rodeos, their children's and grandchildren's sporting events, visiting their parents, gardening, playing cards and most of all each other's company. In January, they celebrated 54 years of marriage.
Grateful for sharing his life are his wife Mary, his brothers Delvin (Cleo) Shroyer of Pierre, SD; Deo Shroyer and his children of Ridgecrest, CA; his children Marty (Paula) Shroyer of Nerstrand, MN; Simone (Phillip Hall) Shroyer of Spearfish, SD; Dooley (Pam) Shroyer of Chamberlain, SD; Jacinta (Todd) Holzwarth of Parker, SD; and Matthew Shroyer of Chamberlain, SD; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, father and mother in-law Duane and Evelyn Parish and three brothers in-laws.
