Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 24, 2022 at the Crow Creek Tribal Hall in Fort Thompson, SD with burial in the Christ Episcopal Cemetery at Fort Thompson.  Wake services will be 7:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Crow Creek Tribal Hall in Fort Thompson, SD.

Clifford "Cheeks" Lawrence Metcalf Jr., age, 42, was born on October 20 ^th , 1979, in Chamberlain, South Dakota, to Clifford Metcalf Sr. and Sharon Shields. Sharon passed away when he was young and he was primarily raised by his auntie Wilhelmina, in Fort Thompson, South Dakota, where he went on to spend the remainder of his life. In his younger years, he attended school at Saint Joseph's Indian School, Lower Brule, and Crow Creek High School where he later served as a Dorm Matron along with numerous roles in the Fort Thompson area.

He was a man of many talents and phrases. Clifford's favorite sports teams include Detroit Lions, Baltimore Orioles, Syracuse Orangemen, Los Angeles Lakers, Ohio State Buckeyes, Pony Tracks, and cheering on his all-star boys!

"Mahoney", another nickname given by family, loved gatherings no matter the occasion and prided himself in being "that guy" when it came to pretty much anything competitive or humiliating. He thoroughly enjoyed joking and laughing with family and his beloved friends, fishing, camping, horseshoes, playing softball and spending time at the Lodestar Casino.

Clifford is survived by his three boys, Dontaye Head, Tjay Head, and Treyvon Head; granddaughter, Ava Onalee; brothers Kenny Seaboy, Trinnie Seaboy, Lonnie Seaboy, Leonard Metcalf, Michael Fallis; sisters Dianna Metcalf, Kally Metcalf, Seanna Fallis; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Clifford passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, January 15 ^th , 2022, at Sanford Chamberlain Medical Center in Chamberlain, South Dakota. Clifford was proceeded in death by his parents, Clifford Metcalf Sr., Sharon Shields; paternal grandparents, Diana & Leonard Metcalf Sr.; maternal grandparents Vivian Loudner & William Shields; auntie Wilhelmina Janis/Shields; and sisters Kris McCauley, Tally Metcalf, Heidi Metcalf.
