Clarice Mae began her journey on April 21, 2024 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD surrounded by loved ones.  She was 69 years old.

Clarice Mae Track was born September 18, 1954 to Elizabeth (Big Eagle) and Leroy Track.  At the age of eight, she went to live with Hank and Louise McBride in Crow Creek along with her two biological sisters Doreen and Mary Lou.  She was raised in Crow Creek and attended the Crow Creek School District.

Clarice met Vilas P. Hopkins and the two were united in marriage.  To this union, five children were born Neva, Vienna, Crystal, Vilas Jr., and Arnold.  She was a good mother and housewife.  They made their home in Crow Creek and lived mostly a country farm life.  She very much enjoyed cooking, sewing, decorating cakes, and gardening with her family.  She and Vilas divorced in 1990.

On December 7, 1990, she married Lawrence C. Wind and to this union two children were born, Lawrence Miles and Susan.  They made their home in several places including Montana, Massachusetts, North Dakota, Minnesota, before returning to Mitchell, SD where they spent 15 years prior to Lawrence's death.  She missed him dearly.

She was very energetic and loved to laugh and listen to music and dance.  She also loved to feed people so she would want us all to eat well and converse…for her.  She loved to hear of the adventures of her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.

Gratefully sharing her life are her daughter Neva and her children Tangi and Ricky; daughter Vienna (Heath) Gourneau and kids Destiny (Chris), Leander, and Jed; daughter Crystal and kids Ken and Larissa; son Arnold and family; special great great grandson Noah; a brother Billy Joe; sisters Doreen, Mary Lou, and Mary Ann; and many other friends, and family/relatives and all her grandchildren as she would call them.

Preceding her in death were her husband Lawrence; two sons Vilas Jr. and Larry; her daughter Suzie; grandson Anthony; and her parents Elizabeth and Leroy.
