Obituary

Funeral services for Cheryl Antelope, 59, of Fort Thompson will be 2:00 pm Friday, August 3, 2018 at the Fort Thompson Tribal Hall in Fort Thompson with burial in the Presbyterian Cemetery at Crow Creek, SD.  Wake services will be Wednesday and Thursday evening at 7:00 pm at the Fort Thompson Tribal Hall in Fort Thompson.

Cheryl Lynn Antelope was born on October 16, 1958 to Clifford John Antelope and Josephine Big Eagle at Chamberlain, SD.  Cheryl passed away at Sanford Medical Center, Chamberlain, on July 30, 2018.

Cheryl attended elementary and high school at Crow Creek, SD.  After school she worked as a nurse's aide at Sunset Valley Nursing home in Chamberlain, and then was employed at the Red Horse Lodge & Seventh Directions for troubled teens.  She dedicated 18 years to the Crow Creek Tribal Schools as a dorm matron and security officer.

She happily retired from her position within the tribal school system following her cancer diagnosis. She was honored and received a good farewell from the school and went on to fight a strong battle against cancer..She enjoyed playing BINGO and spending time with her grandkids.

Grateful for sharing in her life are Cindy (James) Drapeau, Nicholas Antelope, her reasons for living - her 3 grandchildren - Destiny, Jadon, and Jawishas, her brother Simon and wife Merlyn Antelope, and her many cousins, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, and grandkids.

Preceding her in death are her parents and maternal and paternal grandparents and many cousins, aunts and uncles.
