Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at the Fort Thompson Community Center in Fort Thompson with burial in St. John's Episcopal Cemetery at Crow Creek, SD. Wake services will be 7:00 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the Fort Thompson Community Center in Fort Thompson, SD.
Anyone wishing to follow, procession will leave from funeral home on Monday at 3:00 p.m.
Celeste Marie Red Elk was born to Russell Red Elk and Violet Cook on October 29, 1975. Celeste made her journey to the Spirit World on January 18, 2022, at home in Fort Thompson, South Dakota.
Celeste attended school at Chamberlain Elementary and Middle School and later graduating eighth grade in Wolf Point, Montana. Celeste attended high school in Chamberlain until 1993, before graduating from Plenty Coups High School in 1994. Celeste started Nursing School, then switched her major to business management at Northwest College in Powell, Wyoming.
Celeste made friends wherever she went. Celeste enjoyed having good times with family and friends. Celeste enjoyed beading. She loved cooking and cleaning for her nieces/nephews. Celeste was there when someone needed help or friend.
Celeste greatest love was her children and grandchildren. She treasured the time spent with them.
Celeste loved her job with Positive Directions, this employed her in different places from Durango Colorado to Mt. Laurel, New Jersey. Celeste was also employed by Lode Star Casino as Cage Manager. Celeste moved to Chamberlain, was employed at McDonalds, Pizza Hut and Comfort Inn.
Celeste is survived by her son, Dante Stands Over Bull and granddaughter, Stormie Rae; siblings, Jon (Paige) Collins, Gina (Eric) Gladman, Preston (Krystle) Collins, and Wellman "Ollie" Collins; her special friend Tony Big Eagle; her Ft. Peck Ospaye: Aunts, Lois Red Elk Reed and Iris Red Elk Allrunner; cousins, Dustin and Neil Reed, Steven, Russell, Austin and Stephanie Barr, and James Summers; nieces and nephews; LaDanianin (Jasper), Adonis, Nevaeh, and Uriah Collins. Caleb Gladman, Prince, Thunder, Jairico, Renny and Preston Jr. Collins. Violet, Oliver, Tamia, Briyani, and Ambria Collins and many other nieces and nephews. She has 20 nieces and nephews.
Celeste was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Violet; brother, Lorenzo Collins Jr., grandparents Cecelia (Like Him) and George Cook; aunts: Marjorie and Loylee Cook, and Elaine Red Elk; uncles Richard (Dicky) and Robert (Bobby) Cook.
