Carly entered the Spirit World unexpectedly on March 25, 2024 at Chamberlain, SD. Carly was only 35 years of age.

Carly Lynn (Baker) Capers was born June 7, 1988 in Mitchell, SD to Dana and Michelle (Baker) Ashes.  Carly grew up in the Chamberlain-Oacoma area where she accumulated many lifelong friends during her childhood years.  She attended Chamberlain High School and after completing school she became a mother to her pride and joy Alyvia Brynn.

In 2014, Carly made the decision to move to Sioux Falls where she raised Lyv and made many long lasting connections and friendships.  This is also where she met the love of her life Thomas.  In May of 2023, Carly moved back home to Chamberlain and shortly after in October, she was united in marriage to Thomas Capers.

Carly was a fun spirited soul who took on many passions.  She was skilled in many different areas especially when it came to engaging with people.  She was currently employed at Sanford Hospital where she loved greeting and assisting patients and brightening their day.

Carly was a beautiful person inside and out.  Her laugh was so infectious, and her presence lit up any room.  She cared so deeply for the people around her.  Carly had the biggest heart and the most beautiful smile.  She was private yet very witty and full of life.   She was fearless and independent but sensitive and incredibly compassionate.  Carly loved everyone who loved her.

She loved the beach, vacations to Florida, reality TV, her grape soda vape, and freeze dried skittles.  She was strong willed and stubborn, but those traits defined Carly.  They are a part of who she was and her strength undoubtedly helped her deal with life's challenges.

Even in the face of her own trials and tribulations, Carly remained a steadfast friend and confidant to everyone she knew.  Carly provided judgement-free advice and a good laugh right when you needed it.  The loss of Carly will be felt greatly by all that knew her as she made an impact on everyone she met.

Carly is survived by her loving husband Thomas Capers; her daughters Alyvia, Emma, and Ava; her parents Dana and Michelle Ashes; sisters Toni (Justin), Markie (Jimmy), and Taylor; brother David; uncles Danny (Marco), Severn (Mary); Gayland; aunts Suzy Clevenger and Crystal Soulek; grandparents Linda Allen and Larry Olson; nieces Aftan, Brooklyn, Jayden, Leni, Sophia, Melody, Kenzie, Madelynne, Lyric, Amelia, Cali, Finley and Audra; nephews Jaxson, Ryker, Leo, Carter, Draven, Dustin, Braxton, Maximus, Alexander, Caden, Dalton Johnson, Jordan, and Bryant.

Preceding her in death were her cousin Kade Eulberg, brother-in-law Jason Logg, aunt Lisa Baker, great grandmother Ruby Wieczorek, grandma Diane Baker, grandpa Oscar Wieczorek, grandfather Darl Allen, grandfather Walt Dominiack, and friend Fennette Middletent.
