Funeral services for Calvin J. Shields, 32, of Fort Thompson, SD will be Monday, September 14, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Diamond Willow Ministries in Fort Thompson with burial in the Conkicaska Presbyterian Cemetery at Fort Thompson. Wake services will be Saturday and Sunday at 7:00 pm at Diamond Willow Ministries in Fort Thompson.

Calvin James Shields "CJ" was born October 19, 1982 in Pierre, SD to Marilyn Felicia and Allen Shields. CJ spent most of his childhood years in Fort Thompson and Bad Nation. He attended school at Fort Thompson Elementary, St. Joseph's Indian School, and high school at Crow Creek. After high school, he had various jobs. One of his favorite jobs was working for Rick Waddle at Ricks Construction in Monroe, IA whom he met through Diamond Willow. Diamond Willow Ministries always had a place in CJ's heart, as well as Rod and Val. Some of his hobbies were auto-mechanics, hunting and fishing, and drawing. One of his favorite things was riding horse and during his younger years riding JR bulls, placing 1st at the Ashley Arena.
CJ had a kind, sweet spirit and soul, making friends wherever he went. He was loved so much by his family and friends.

CJ passed away on September 4, 2015 at the age of 32 years. CJ leaves behind his parents Marilyn Felicia and Allen Shields; two precious daughters Amerie and Caprice; brother Glen (Lois) Shields; sisters Anne, Lynette, and Maddie Shields; nephews and nieces to numerous to name. Preceding him in death were his maternal grandparents Jim and Madeline Felicia; paternal grandparents Edward and Alice Shields.
