Obituary

Byrn Allen Klocker passed away on April 29, 2024 at Chamberlain, SD at the age of 84.  Byrn was born in Hoven, SD on April 25, 1940 to Albert F. and Dorothy Louise (Byrnes) Klocker.  Byrn lived in Hoven and worked at the cheese factory until 1970 when he and his family moved to Pierre.  When in Pierre, he worked as a custodian at the Capital for eight years.  After his father's death in 1993, he moved to Chamberlain where he became a resident of Dakota Milestones.

Byrn owned his own home and enjoyed the comradery of the clients he lived with.  He enjoyed working at Casey Drug for many years.

Byrn was quite the artist and left many drawings for friends and family.  He was a fan of Elvis and even had his own blue suede shoes.

Byrn loved to travel and was able to go to the Space Station in Florida, Disney World in Florida, and the EPCOT center in California.  He visited Graceland in Tennessee and traveled to Hawaii.

He was a life long fan of the Atlanta Braves and was able to attend many of their games.  He loved space exploration and was able to donate a telescope to the Discovery Center in Pierre.

Byrn loved family and friends and enjoyed the company of his nieces and nephews.  He loved to visit and enjoyed his community.

Byrn sold his home in 2022 and became a resident of the Sanborn Home in Chamberlain, SD.

Byrn was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Winnie and husband Joe and his sister Linda.

Byrn is survived by his brother Jerry and wife Sharon; his nephews and nieces Troy Klocker; Rex Klocker, Romi and Jeff Barbier, Alex and Stacie Klocker and their family Brendan, Talia, Kiyan, Isabelle, and Sayje, Zeb Klocker, Joe and Angie Lojas and their children Joe Jr. and Emersen, Jenny Lojas and son Max, Beth Rice and her children Winnie and Kyle; and many other friends and relatives.

Memorial services for Byrn Klocker, 84, of Chamberlain, SD will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, May 25, 2024 at the Hickey Funeral Chapel in Chamberlain, SD.
