Funeral services for Bernard J. Drapeau, Jr., 58, of Fort Thompson will be 1:00 pm Monday, December 16, 2019 at the Fort Thompson Community Center in Fort Thompson with burial in the Christ Episcopal Cemetery at Fort Thompson.  Wake services will be Saturday and Sunday at 7:00 pm at the Fort Thompson Community Center in Fort Thompson.

Bernard "Bugs" Jesse Drapeau, Jr. was born on June 16, 1961 and made his journey to the Spirit World on December 12, 2019 at the age of 58.  He was born to Bernard "Jumbo" Drapeau, Sr. and June Johnson Drapeau in Chamberlain, SD.

Bugs is survived by his four sons: Jamie Drapeau, Jesse Drapeau III, Mark Drapeau and Phillip His Law; three sisters: Bernadette Farmer, Sheena Traversie-Drapeau, and Lavoyce Lounder; three brothers Leland Drapeau, Christopher Drapeau Sr., and Royce Loudner; as well as many grandchildren.

Bernard "Bugs" Drapeau is preceded in death by his daughter Cala Rose Whitemouse, his sister Mardel Drapeau, his brother Verlyn Drapeau Sr., his parents Bernard "Jumbo" Drapeau and June Johnson Drapeau, his grandparents Isabel and Silas Johnson and Alfred and Annie Thompson, as well as many other relatives that made their journey before him.

Bugs attended Fort Thompson Elementary School and Crow Creek High School.  He lived in Fort Thompson, SD and he worked various jobs for the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe.  He is deeply loved and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
