Memorial services for Audrey A. Jones, 72, of Fort Thompson will be 11:00 am Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Diamond Willow Ministries in Fort Thompson with burial in the Christ Episcopal Cemetery at Fort Thompson, SD.  Wake services will be Tuesday at 7:00 pm at Diamond Willow Ministries in Fort Thompson.

Audrey Alleta Jones, 72, of Fort Thompson, SD passed away on January 18, 2021 at Ava's House in Sioux Falls, SD.

Audrey Alleta Jones was born December 29, 1948 in Yankton, SD to Rebecca and Stanley Jones Sr. She is the youngest of seven girls and five boys.  In her younger years she attended school through the 11 ^th grade before joining the Job Corps for awhile.

She really enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Then in 2018 on April 20 ^th , her first great granddaughter Aaliyah Love Jones was born and she was the happiest grandma ever.  She would also show up unexpected just to see the kids bringing goodies with her.  In 2020 on October 20 ^th , her second great granddaughter came into the world baby Audrey Chynelle Jones and she couldn't be more happy.

She enjoyed her days going on cruises by herself but sometimes would like company and bring her "other son" (her stuffed monkey).  She would tell her son Loren "don't be rude and say 'Hi' to your brother." She also enjoyed being around her adopted great grandson Cameron John Lopez "Jones".  She and him loved saying that's "my grandson Cameron Jones"!

Audrey attended a lot of gathering with her Christ Episcopal Church and really enjoyed meeting new people and always was willing to lend a helping hand to whomever needed it. Her doors were always open and because of that she was known by many and the many were blessed to have known her.

Leaving behind to mourn were her only son Loren Jones; four grandchildren Daryl Jones, Lauren "Lala" Jones, Rain Jones, and Jade Jones; two great grandchildren Aaliyah Love Jones and baby Audrey Chynelle Jones; two brothers John Jones and George Jones; two sisters Charlotte Payer and Roberta "Sissy"  Maes; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and lots of friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents Rebecca and Stanley Jones Sr.; four sisters Alberta Crow, Mildred World Turner, Sophie Martin and Winnie Bear Face; and three brothers Everett Jones, Stanley Jones Jr., and Cornelius Jones; along with her pet cat "Mamas" (no other animal could come in – she only loved her "Mamas"
