Funeral services for Alvin R. Traversie, 37, of Fort Thompson, SD will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 29, 2022 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Fort Thompson, SD with burial in Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery at Fort Thompson, SD. Wake services will be 7:00 p.m., Thursday and Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Fort Thompson, SD.
Anyone wishing to follow, the procession will leave from funeral home on Thursday at 1:00 p.m.
Alvin Richard Traversie was born on December 19th, 1984 to Doremis Spider at Mid-Dakota Hospital in Chamberlain, S.D. He attended headstart and elementary in Ft. Thompson, S.D. then attending high school at Crow Creek in Stephan, S.D. during his junior year he went on to Job Corp in Nemo, S.D. where he took up the trade of Brick Masonry, after Job Corp he moved to Sioux Falls, S.D. to work with a masonry company. His recents jobs were at the Lode Star Casino and helping with the Covid Task Force Team. Alvin loved to play basketball, listen to music, telling jokes with family and friends, cooking, making his famous frybread and choki rounds, watching games on t.v. and on Youtube. His favorite place to hang out and called his second home was at grandma "auntie" Faith Spider's with his uncles, Tyrone & Burton "Babe" Stepp, and childhood best friend, Roscoe "Hazz" Witt. Alvin's biggest pride & joys were his two daughters, Tresse Dream, Delilah, his "Son, son" Rockie and new baby grandson, Kyrie Allen.
Alvin started making his journey to the Spirit World on January 22nd, 2022 at Ft. Thompson, S.D. at the age of 37 years old. Gratefully sharing his life; his mother, Doremis Spider of Ft. Thompson, S.D., Step-dad, Mike Keeble of Sioux Falls, S.D. who helped raise him at a young age, daughter's, Tresse Dream, Delilah, son, Rockie, & grandson Kyrie Allen all of Ft. Thompson, S.D. Sisters; Jerilyn Traversie (Quentin) of Ft. Thompson, S.D.,Troylynn Traversie (Randy "Bubz") of Pipestone, Mn., Ruth Ann Traversie (Kurt) of Mission, S.D., Inez Traversie (Dusty) of Ft. Thompson, S.D., Mikki Jo Keeble (Pat) of Mitchell, S.D., and Teanna Dion (Terrance) of Ft. Thompson, S.D. Cousins; Carlus (Tara) Marks of Sioux Falls, S.D., & Anthony "Dude" Wilson of Pipestone, Mn., whom he took like brothers. An uncle, Emmett Locke who he also took like a brother, and best friend, Roscoe "Hazz" Witt who he adopted as his brother. Grandfather's, Linus Bad Moccasin of Yankton, S.D., & Amis Spider of Minneapolis, Mn., Grandmother's, Enore Bad Moccasin-Marks of Ft. Thompson, S.D., & Lenore Bad Moccasin-Locke of Porcupine, S.D., Dorothy Spider-Farmer, Lydia Spider-Marks, & Faith Spider all of Ft. Thompson, S.D; special friend Heather Fleury.
