Funeral services for Algene Stricker, 58, of Fort Thompson, SD will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 26, 2026 at the Holy Comforter Episcopal Church in Lower Brule, SD.  Wake services will be 7:00 p.m., Wednesday at the Holy Comforter Episcopal Church in Lower Brule, SD.

Anyone wishing to follow, the procession will leave the Funeral Home on Wednesday at 3:00 pm.

Algene Stricker/Timothy Jones was born to Yvonne Garfey Stricker.  Algene grew up in Eastern United States with his adopted family.  After graduating high school, he went to business school for a short time. After that he held several different labor jobs until he found interest in kick boxing.  "Red Thunder" was his name & it was a new source of income.  In his early 40's his health was more important than boxing, so he retired & returned to Lower Brule in 2010 to be reunited with his brother Robby.  Algene lived his final years between Lower Brule & Fort Thompson. Our brother, friend, uncle, cousin, nephew, grandpa & great grandpa went home on February 19, 2026 & will be missed.

Algene is preceded in death by his mother Yvonne Stricker, maternal grandparents James Stricker & Carmen Johnson, and his adopted parents John and Mildred Jones.

Algene is survived by his brother Robert Stricker of Lower Brule, sister Elizabeth Brunson of Tempe, AZ, his adopted sister's Dawn Reminsky of North Carolina & Kathy Turner of Texas.

What can I say about my brother Algene-His good heart, cheerful spirit, loving smile, giving hands, helping arms & his wonderful energy will be missed. Rest Brother, just rest now!

Algene will be missed by many family & friends. Special thank you to the Lower Brule Police Department for being good to my brother.
