Obituary

Funeral services for Alejandro "Alex" Woodraska, 21, of Chamberlain will be 10:00 am Friday, March 29, 2019 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Chamberlain with burial in the Graceland Cemetery at Oacoma, SD.  Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm Thursday with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at the Zion Lutheran Church in Chamberlain.

Alejandro "Alex" Woodraska also known by his friends as Chach was born on July 7, 1997 to Jenny Cleland and Alejandro Valenzuela in Chamberlain, South Dakota.

Alex enjoyed fishing and hunting with his grandpa and riding 4-wheeler in the Black Hills. When Alex wasn't working he enjoyed spending time with special friends Kyle, Nick & Ryker.  Alex had just returned home from a family vacation to Texas where he was able to meet his new nephew Cole and spend time with his niece Elena Sage who thought he was a big teddy bear and followed him wherever he went.

In his short 21 years Alex touched the lives of many people and was always kind to whoever he came across. He was recently promoted to a management spot after his one year service with Arby's.  Alex will be greatly missed by all his family, he was his mothers pride and joy.

Alex passed away on March 25 th 2019 at his home in Chamberlain, South Dakota. Grateful for sharing his life are his mother Jenny and step-father Lance Forester of Chamberlain; his father Alejandro Valenzuela of Mexico; brothers Austin (Erica) Cleland of Valley View, TX, Gabe and Tyler of Chamberlain, SD; sisters Alexis of Chamberlain, SD and Mercedes of El Paso, TX; grandparents Gary and Connie Cleland of Oacoma, SD and LouAnn Gerard of Whitesboro, TX; great grandmother Doris Thomas of Chamberlain, SD; aunts Desi Van Dam (Steve) of Rapid City, SD and Leah (Scott) Shockey of Lead, SD; and a niece and nephew Elena Sage and Cole Cleland. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his cousin Taylor Annette Cleland and great grandparents Francis & Betty Cleland and Lowell Thomas.
